Toddler Halloween Costumes that are more “Treat” than “Trick
When it comes to making your own infant or toddler Halloween costumes, you can have the time of your life! It may be challenging to find just the right costumes, as you stay within your budget and create a infant or toddler Halloween costume that is both safe to wear while being easy to get in and out of.
The simplest and the safest toddler Halloween costumes or those suited for infants, should not interfere with their movement, their eyesight or their halting walk. They will invariably want to practice this on the steepest of steps leading to a home at which they trick or treat, or that party you permitted them to attend.
Keep in mind the ability to wear other clothing under the Halloween costume, especially since the climate is not so warm during this time of year and the children may be wearing the costume over additional clothing. Always be mindful that neither infant nor toddler Halloween costumes encumbers their movement of arms or legs such as clothing that gather or bunch.
Toddler costumes which are purchased or made should be checked over completely to assure that safety comes first. This includes the review of masks as to not obstruct vision. Far better would be face painting, which in no way interferes with their ability to see what they are walking toward or what may be coming toward them. Flowing costumes which are lengthy should be inspected to be certain that they are not too long and will create hazards when walking or running. Among some of the more inventive I’ve seen recently included a leopard, a dinosaur and a cheetah, which incorporated two piece costumes, with face painting, that allowed for ease of use when the little one invariably had to shed the costume to use the bathroom, or found it necessary to readjust clothing beneath it.
Depending on the age of your little “trick or treater,” they may still be putting everything into their mouth. Avoid any dangling pieces that Jr. and Suzy will want to taste. An infant Halloween costume should obviously avoid any elaborate hood or head coverings.
Of course, modern infant and toddler Halloween costumes are much safer than they have been in years gone by. Normally Halloween costumes are made of flame retardant materials. You should check to make sure that all your Halloween costumes are flame retardant as there are so many risks to the safety rules when regarding children and the use of candles inside jack o’ lanterns. It is best to use glow sticks in place of candles when at all possible. Safety should always be key in dressing a child up in a Halloween costume, whether an infant or a toddler.
